Worry, Fear & Faith

Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear. – Corrie Ten Boom

Are you ever overcome by worry?  Does worry stop you from doing everyday things?  Do you worry about things that haven’t even happened?  If you do, know that you are not alone.  Whether we are hearing it on the radio, or watching the evening news or reading the paper or a magazine, there are things to worry about.  We worry about our kids, our finances, our marriages, our tomorrows!  We can end up worrying about things that have never happened, and in most cases 99% of what we worry about will NEVER happen!  It’s crazy to think but when we worry we cause stress to our minds, bodies and spirits.  Let’s think about this – if worry is fear, what are we afraid of?  Try to come to terms with those things and I think we can make a step in the right direction of what is feeding the worry.  Have you thought of the opposite of fear?  The opposite of fear is faith.  If faith then means “belief or trust: belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof, then fear must be illogical, right?  Make a list today of what you are afraid of, I mean deep down inside, it might be a childhood experience, a memory or something that you have never let yourself go to.  Go there today, deal with what scares you and you will come to deal with the worry of a tomorrow that is not even promised to us.  Life is short, like a vapor, don’t let fear and worry rob you of friendships, family, faith, and fun!  Talk Soon, Tlc

One Response to Worry, Fear & Faith

This is wonderful encouragement! I like the positive application and comparison to the negative outlook. Self-examination of what is deep inside our core that is in need of honest realization of what is really the hurt or issue in need of being revealed and dealt with. It all comes back to the heart, it’s a heart issue. Beautiful, I love the cover on this blog and the theme! Praying over this that God will speak through you and all the others who will be sharing on here!
